Today, I will forget yesterday, with all of its
trials and tribulations, aggravations and setbacks, anger and
frustrations. The past is already a dream from which I can neither
retrieve a single word nor erase any foolish deed.
Today, I will resolve that if I have injured anyone
yesterday through my thoughtlessness, I will not let this day’s sun set
before I make amends, and nothing I do today will be of greater
importance. If anyone has injured me or done anything wrong to me this
day, I will forgive them before the day is out.
Today, I will not worry about the future. I will
treasure this day, for it is all I have. I know that its rushing hours
cannot be accumulated or stored, like precious grain, for future use. I
will live in the moment. I cannot perform my best today by worrying
about what is to come.
Today, I will embrace today’s difficult tasks, take
off my coat, and make dust in the world. I will remember that the busier
I am, the less harm I am apt to suffer, the tastier will be the food,
the sweeter my sleep, and the better satisfied I will be with my place
in the world. If I get knocked down by life, I will not look back for
long, before I move forward. No one wins them all, and my failures, when
they happen, are part of my growth. I will never quit, my turn will
come.
Today, I will treat everyone I meet, friend or foe,
loved one or stranger, as if they are going to be dead at midnight.
Extend to each person, no matter how trivial the contact, all the care
and kindness and understanding and love that I can muster, and do it
with no thought of any reward.
Today, I will slow down and enjoy life. I will work
hard, but I will always make time to relax and enjoy life. I will never
be in too big a hurry to have time for people, to smile and speak a kind
word. I will take time to spend with God and in His Word.
Today, I will get out of the boat. I will no longer
live in my comfort zone. I will have faith that when I step out of the
boat Jesus will be with me. I will live life and live it more
abundantly.
Today, I will pray for all I meet. I will pray for
my co-worker, my family members and above all, I will pray for my
enemies. I will pray and ask for God’s blessing on all I meet. I will
start my day by talking to God and continue until I go to sleep at
night.
Today, I will seek God, as I wake in the morning
the first thing I will do is think about God and thank Him for yet
another beautiful day. I will not let the stresses of the day invade my
life. As the stresses of the day try to invade my life, I will seek God
and His will for my life. I will remind myself that God is in control. I
will seek God and His fellowship all during the day.
Today, I will exalt others above myself. I will
give credit to others before I give credit to myself. I will be a
servant to all I meet. I will humble myself that I may present Jesus to
the world.
If we will read and follow these seeds of
success each day, our lives will be changed and we will be starting to
live the abundant life.
