The Book of Hebrews – God’s Word

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Hebrews 4:12-13

God’s Word, the Bible, is alive. The Bible is not a bunch of dead lifeless words on paper. It is the living Word of God. It accomplishes everything God wills. “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stays on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry. It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” (Isaiah 55:10-11) Several years ago God wanted me to post Daily Bible readings on social media. I don’t know if it has reached people and how many, all I know is this is God’s promise that if I obey Him and post the scripture, He will use it to His glory.

Scripture is like a scalpel wielded by God to perform spiritual surgery. In conjunction with the Holy Spirit, the word of God cuts through the sin and the darkness of the human heart to restore spiritual health. Without the Word, we are as good as dead. God’s Word is healing for the human heart. God’s Word reveals God to man. It also makes man accountable before God as judge. When God reveals Himself to us, we in turn realize that we are all naked and exposed to the eyes of Him to whom we must give an account.
